Helping institutions secure millions in funding by proving that the "invisible" immigrant experience can be made visible without being exploited.

For most institutions, "storytelling" is an afterthought a video produced to check a box for the annual gala or end-of-year report.

You damage the psychological safety of the very people you exist to serve. You create external noise that threatens your organization's reputation. You widen the gap between the complex, critical work you do every day and how you are perceived by the public and your funders.

When your mission is misunderstood, underfunded, or reduced to a cliché, you lose the trust of your community. And when trust is your only currency, you cannot afford extractionist filmmaking.

The Stabilization Framework in Action
Southeastern Educational Foundation - Navigating an institutional crisis and community disconnect.

External noise and a recent scandal were threatening the institution's future funding and reputation. They needed to communicate the actual, lived resilience of their student body to a skeptical board of directors in under 5 minutes.

We deployed The Stabilization Framework. Bypassing traditional PR spin, we applied our MFT-trained clinical lens to conduct safe, trauma-informed interviews with three first-generation students. We focused the narrative entirely on their structural and individual agency, rejecting the victim narrative entirely.

Secured $2.4M in renewed board funding, restored community trust, and established a permanent cultural asset used in all new-hire faculty onboarding.

How We Build Your Narrative
Traditional production focuses on the shoot. We focus on the psychology. Our process is engineered to protect the storyteller while delivering undeniable ROI for the institution.
1
Clinical Guardianship
We lead with the psychological safety of the subject. Our MFT-trained lens ensures that documenting a story never comes at the cost of the storyteller's well-being. We establish boundaries, build clinical rapport, and prepare subjects for the emotional weight of sharing their lived reality.

Lived Authority & Immersion
We don't do "outreach"; we do internal advocacy. We speak the language of the immigrant and under-recognized experience because we have lived it. We spend time in the environment, earning the right to tell the story by understanding the nuanced reality of the community first.

Why the "Traditional" Model Fails Institutions
Narrative Infrastructure, Not "Video Production"
You don't need a video; you need a strategic asset that fosters long-term stability and aligns institutional resources with community trust.

Clinical Guardianship, Not "Interviewing"
We don't extract soundbites. We use a clinical, trauma-informed (MFT) framework to protect the people on camera, ensuring their dignity remains intact.

Resilience as Standard, Not "Pity"
We actively reject the "victim narrative." Our work focuses exclusively on the structural and individual agency that allows communities to thrive against the odds.

Lived Authority, Not "Translators"
We don't guess at the cultural nuances of the immigrant experience. We leverage our own lived history to capture authenticity that outsiders simply cannot access.

The Impact of Documented Truth

This is so powerful. I have a lot of students trying to decide what they'll study and do with their lives. This cultural identity story helps them define their future because they finally have a better understanding of their past.

When we needed to prove the impact of our community outreach, traditional agencies wanted to film sad faces. Pablo came in and filmed strength. His work didn't just win us the grant; it reminded our staff why we do this work.

When Trust is
Our Only Currency
We have a limited marketing budget for video.
We are not a marketing expense; we are a partner in crisis and growth. When external noise threatens your reputation, or when you need to secure a multi-million dollar grant, a poorly handled, cheap narrative is a massive liability. You are investing in institutional stability.
Our community is highly vulnerable. We can't risk exposing them.
This is exactly why you cannot hire a standard production crew. Our foundational value is Clinical Guardianship. Pablo's background in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) dictates every question asked and every frame shot. We protect the person on the street first.
How long does this take?
Our beauty is a byproduct of our clinical precision. We don't rush in with cameras. We embed, we listen, and we engineer psychological bridges. A typical engagement takes 8 to 12 weeks from deep immersion to final deployment.`

You can't manufacture empathy. You have to live it.
I came to the United States as an undocumented 11-year-old boy from Guatemala.
My father was a mason—he broke block to build buildings in Raleigh, North Carolina. In his broken English, he would talk about his friend "Mr. Yimes" (Mr. James), a Black man he worked alongside. Those early moments taught me a fundamental truth: despite the noise of society, at our core, we share the exact same human struggles and hopes.Years later, I was working as a counselor in Chattanooga's inner-city schools, leading groups for kids dealing with trauma, language acquisition, and the chaos of unpredictable lives. I was carrying a Morral—a traditional Guatemalan bag. A third-grade girl stopped the group and pointed at it.
"My dad used to have a bag like that,"
she said. "But we don't know what happened to him. We were coming through Mexico and we never saw him again."
That moment broke me open. I went to my car and wept. I realized then that my own pain, my own immigrant struggle, had a distinct purpose. It allowed me to look into the eyes of a traumatized child, or a formerly incarcerated parent trying to find a job, and say, "I see you. And I know how to help the world see you."

I founded Resilient Story because I was tired of seeing under-recognized communities exploited for pity. I merged my clinical training in therapy with high-fidelity filmmaking to build something entirely new: Narrative Infrastructure.

Today, institutions hire me not just to hold a camera, but to act as a cultural bridge. To speak the language of the board member, while fiercely protecting the dignity of the person on the street.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
What is Clinical Guardianship?
It is our proprietary approach to interviewing and storytelling, rooted in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) principles. It means we prioritize the psychological safety and emotional well-being of the subject above the needs of the production. We ensure the process is therapeutic, not extractive.
02
How does this stabilize our reputation?
In times of institutional crisis or public misunderstanding, your organization needs an anchor. A strategic documentary acts as a "master tape"—a high-fidelity, undeniable record of your actual impact. It cuts through the noise of public opinion and aligns stakeholders around documented truth.
03
Do you only work with immigrant communities?
While my personal lived experience is rooted in the immigrant journey, Resilient Story is built to serve any under-recognized community. The clinical frameworks we use apply equally to marginalized neighborhoods, reentry populations, and any group facing systemic barriers.
04
What are the final deliverables?
While every engagement is custom-tailored, typical deliverables include a "Hero" documentary asset (3-7 minutes), optimized cutdowns for social and presentation use, and a strategic deployment plan to ensure the video achieves its specific institutional goal.
05
We are ready to move forward. What happens next?
Fill out the application above. If we are a mutual fit, we will schedule a 45-minute Narrative Strategy Session. During that call, we will diagnose your communication gaps, review our methodology, and present a custom roadmap for your institution.
